Abstract

This study assessed the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on instructional supervision and job performance of Supervisors in FCT Post-Basic Education and Career Development (PBECD), Nigeria. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprises of all supervisors in FCT public secondary schools. A sample size of 90 supervisors were selected. The Supervisors were selected using multistage sampling procedure. Two research instruments were used for data collection that is questionnaire. The questionnaires were titled” Information and communication technology and Instructional Supervision Questionnaire (ICTISQ), and Information communication technology and Supervisors’ Job Performance Questionnaire (ICTSJPQ)”. Test-retest method of reliability was adopted in the study. The following scores 0.71 and 0.78 were obtained for the two. All the hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study concluded that there is significant relationship between information and communication technology (ICT) and instructional supervision in public Post-Basic Education and Career Development (PBECD) in FCT and that there is significant relationship between information and communication technology (ICT) and Supervisors’ job performance in public Post-Basic Education and Career Development (PBECD) in FCT. Based on this, the government and school administrators should provide adequate ICT facilities in all the public Post-Basic Education and Career Development (PBECD) in FCT, Nigeria.
