Abstract

This article highlights the importance of language and the influence of linguistic features in the radio communication between the pilot and the air traffic control operator. In addition, several plane crashes have been recorded in the last 30 years that proved the importance of aviation communication, and language was the main factor in the deaths of more than 1,100 passengers and crew in accidents between 1976 and 2000. In aviation, communication between pilots and air traffic controllers is a means of transmitting information and determining specific behavior of pilots to achieve operational goals.
